We recently discovered our new favorite egg preparation!  Shirred eggs are not from the Shire, however, they are as magical.  Mixing our pasture-raised eggs with heavy cream and savory ingredients makes for a decadent dish that is reminiscent of a breakfast custard, but silkier and richer.  They’re quick and easy to make, and the flavor combinations are endless!


1 6-10 oz ramekin

2 tbsp cream

2 Farmers Hen House Pasture-Raised Eggs (Free-Range works too!)

Salt and pepper

Add any ingredients you like!  Below is what we added.

1 tbsp diced tomato

1 tbsp feta cheese

1 tsp oregano


1 tbsp parmesan cheese

2 tsp chopped chives


Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2

Combine all ingredients in ramekin.

Step 3

Bake for 12 minutes (until jiggly in the middle).  For firm yolks bake an additional 2-3 minutes.
