Farmers’ Holiday Sugar Cookies

IMG 4745 scaled e1607017660837Tis the season for holiday baking, and Christmas sugar cookies are no exception!  There’s lots of great heirloom recipes, and this one just happens to be ours.  The simple combination of Farmers Hen House eggs, butter, sugar, vanilla, flour, and sprinkles yields a taste that will bring the nostalgic comfort of the holidays to your home and palate.


1 1/2 cups butter

2 cups sugar

2 Farmers Hen House eggs

4 cups gluten-free flour (can be substituted for wheat flour)

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp vanilla


Step 1

Mix butter, sugar, vanilla, and eggs in a large bowl.

Step 2

Combine flour, baking powder, salt.

Step 3

Slowly stir flour mixture into butter/sugar mixture.

Step 4

Chill for 2 hours.

Step 5

Roll dough thin.  Cut and bake at 350 degrees for 8 – 10 minutes.
